Iranian short film wins Golden Guepard at Tashkent festival

TEHRAN,Oct.29(MNA) – The short film “Raw, Cooked, Burned” by Iranian filmmaker Shahram Mokri won the Golden Guepard, the top award of the first Tashkent International Film Festival (October 19-26). Produced by Mohammad Sufi, the short film tells the story of a 40-year-old man who thinks about his lost opportunities. “Raw, Cooked, Burned” was competing with movies from the United States, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, UK, France, Kazakhstan, Russia, Taiwan, Azerbaijan, South Korea and China. Guepard refers to the world’s fastest running animal which has historical roots in Uzbek culture. The guepard used to be part of the coat of arms of the House of Rulers of Chach, an ancient name for Tashkent.
