Iranians, Loyal To Their Rich Cultural, Religious Values: Mahdavi

New Delhi, Nov 4, IRNA - Iranians have always been loyal to their rich culture and moralities as well as religious and national values and they would never abandon them at any cost, said Vice Chancellor of Iran's Al-Mustafa International University Gholam Reza Mahdavi here Saturday. He made the remarks in an address to the day-long Seminar on Tradition and Modernity: Changing Dimensions. The seminar was jointly organized by India’s Institute of Social Sciences and the Al-Mustafa International University of Iran, Delhi Branch. "Throughout the Iranian history and civilization no power could destroy the nation’s historical culture and values through dominating over governments," Mahdavi said stressing that the invaders had to either retreat Iran or merge with the Iranian culture and traditions. However, he added that culture in Iran was not associated with prejudice but, instead, with sharing and using experiences of other nations and cultures. "That’s why Iranians have not always had homogenous and uniform culture but they have had a hybrid culture," said the official./end
