Iran's active diplomacy showing strength

Tehran, May 20, IRNA - After the recent visit of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Beijing, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's telephone call with his Chinese counterpart marks the beginning of a diplomatic confrontation by the Trump government. This was due to the failure of Trump's unilateralism in the international arena and JCPOA-related intelligence diplomacy concerning Iran. The anti-Iranian measures of the Trump government have no end, and its officials are trying in every way to put in place the maximum pressure policy, although this policy is now slowly becoming confusion for the Trump himself and the United States. After Zarif traveled to Beijing on his Asian tour, Pompeo immediately spoke to his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in a telephone call. The Chinese foreign minister said in a telephone call that the US talks and actions have damaged the interests of China and its companies. Wang Yi also said that the United States should not go beyond in its current conflicts with China, and Beijing is still willing to resolve the differences between the two sides in negotiations that are on an equal footing. In addition to China's opposition on US trade sanctions against Iran, Beijing and Washington have also major disputes. Both countries have imposed heavy tariffs on each other's goods, and their trade negotiations have not yet come to an end. It also appears that Pompeo's telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart was only two days after it was reported that an Iranian tanker had been harbored in China and had discharged about 130,000 tons of oil. In addition to the telephone conversation, there are other indications that the US Secretary of State is pursuing Zarif's plans in his trips. Pompeo had already traveled to these countries after Zarif’s trips to Iraq and Russia. The Secretary of State has had a weekly tour of Iraq, Britain, Brussels and Russia, which according to analysts Pompeo's trips to various countries was in line with the Trump government's endeavor to persuade governments to align with America, and Zarif's Asian tour to Turkmenistan, India, Tokyo and Beijing, is also Tehran's attempt to persuade governments not to come together with the United States. The warm welcome of the high-ranking officials from the Iranian foreign minister suggests welcoming Iran's diplomacy. Media reports from the meetings and interviews of the two foreign ministers of Iran and the United States show that Pompeo has so far failed to persuade governments. For example, on the one hand in the meeting with Iraqi leaders, he keeps them on the list of exemptions, and on the other, he wants them to align with the United States, an approach that the Iraqi government is strongly opposed to. The United States is trying to increase pressure on the Iraqi government by other way. Exxon Mobile, a multinational and American oil and gas company, has evacuated all foreign employees from the oilfield Qurna I in western Iraq, and moved to Dubai, Reuters news agency reported yesterday. Such an action by an American company shows that the Trump government seeks to exert pressure on the Iraqi government to avoid policy of alignment with Iran. Even in a meeting with British Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt, Pompeo could not match UK's position on the US side, and Hunt continued to speak with Pompeo within the framework of JCPOA, and in the meeting with EU counterparts, Federica Mogherini, EU foreign policy Chief met him with dismay and demanded a reduction in tension in dealing with Iran. In the final stage of the Pompeo meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin, Putin argued that Russia was not a firefighter to ask him to put off the fire of the Middle East at any time. At the next stage, the United States launched another psychological war and, by announcing the withdrawal of unnecessary staff from its embassies and consulates in Iraq, and several other Arab countries, attempted to increase the psychological atmosphere of tension to a higher level. But the hidden thing seems to be something else, and that has been a reduction in the cost of embassies and consulates. Something that the Department of State has long sought, and that country now exploits it is a psychological war against Iran.
