Iran`s Peyman Moadi rejects “Ghosts” proposal

TEHRAN,Nov.26(MNA) – The celebrated actor-director Peyman Moadi rejected the proposal to join the cast for “Ghosts”, the producer announced on Monday. “We have tried our best to convince Peyman to agree to play one of the leading roles but he has rejected the offer. We hope we can have his cooperation in future projects,” the film’s producer Jahangir Kowsari told . “Peyman is one of the most talented actors who know the nature of acting in the modern cinema of the world,” he added. Mahtab Keramati, Hassan Majuni, Mehdi Soltani, Melika Sharifinia, Hengameh Hamidzadeh, Amir-Ali Danaii and Ahmad Yavarishad are the other members of the cast for the family drama, which is been directed by Dariush Mehrjuii. The film is about family members who have problems with each other and seek solitude like ghosts. World-renowned Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi asked Moadi in 2009 to act in his “About Elly”, which was Iran’s submission for an Oscar in 2010. He also starred in Farhadi’s “A Separation”, which won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012. Moadi costarred with Kristen Stewart and Lane Garrison in “Camp X-Ray”, Peter Sattler’s directorial debut that is scheduled to premiere in 2014. He is scheduled to star in Japanese director Kazuaki Kiriya’s action adventure “The Last Knights”, which is in the postproduction stage. Morgan Freeman and Clive Owen will also act in the English-language film, which will be shot in the Czech Republic.
