Iran's Rank In Fight Against Administrative Corruption Improved

Tehran, Oct 10, IRNA – Head of General Inspection Organization (GIO) Mustafa Pour-Mohammadi said that Iran's rank in fight against administrative corruption was already very bad and in 180 countries Iran had rank of 168 , but now it has improved 45-46 ranks. Pour-Mohammadi, in a program at the TV Channel 2 on Tuesday evening, said one of the reasons for that undesirable rank was lack of presenting appropriate report of governmental organizations and bodies and added that, in fact, root of the weakness is not corruption, but it is bureaucracy and bodies either does not send report or they send weak or incorrect one. He continued that upon article 174 of the Constitution, supervision on correct implementation of law and regulations are two main duties of the organization, so supervision on private sector or bazaar in not among duties of the GIO. Pour-Mohammadi said that two main duties of the GIO are observing law and whether activities reach their goals or not./end
