Iran's water polo team beats Singapore in Asian Games

Jakarta, Aug 25, IRNA – Iran's national water polo won its first match in Asian Games against Singapore. Iran's water polo team beat the Singaporean rival 11-5 on Saturday morning. Dejan Milakovic, the Singaporean team coach had predicted that the game would be a close one. He said: 'Iran is one of our biggest rivals. We have faced them many times over the past few years and it's always been close, so it'll be a big game for us.' The Iranian team in Group A will also play versus South Korea and Kazakhstan. The team will face South Korea on Sunday (Aug 26). Iranian teams with 12 gold, 11 silver and 8 bronze medals are ranked fourth in Asian Games (August 18 – September 2) in Indonesia.
