Iraqi Ambassador to Moscow Submits His Credentials

BAGHDAD / NINA / Iraq's ambassador in Moscow, Ismail Shafik submitted his credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin. The ambassador noted, in his speech during the event submitting his credentials, according to a Foreign Ministry statement today, to the historical relations between the two countries in addition to the role of Russian companies operating in Iraq in various fields, adding that his mission in Moscow is to promote relations between the two countries through more cooperation . For his part, the Russian president described Iraq, in his speech during the ceremony of submitting credentials of twenty new ambassadors, as one of Russia's most important partners in the Middle East, and expressed Russia's readiness to support Iraqi institutions in accordance with the agreements between the two countries. / End
