Iraqi Foreign Minister Meets His Kuwaiti Counterpart

BAGHDAD / NINA / Foreign Minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari said the depth of historical relations between Iraq and Kuwait represent a strategic dimension to the requirements of establishing the foundations of security and stability in the whole region. Jaafari, during a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait, Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, on the sidelines of the conference / 42 / of the Foreign Ministers of Islamic Cooperation Council, held in Kuwait – appreciated Kuwait's positions towards the people of Iraq in its war against ISIS, noting that ISIS does not represent Islamic, state or an Arab or Iraqi, but an abnormal phenomenon reflects the oblique thought seeks to spread the culture of blood. He called - according to a statement of his press office - all countries of the world to stand with Iraq and prevent the spread of terrorism to different countries of the world, shedding lights on the national consensus case embodied by the efforts and sacrifices of the armed forces, the popular defense forces, Peshmerga and the tribes in the war against Daash gangs, criticizing the efforts that try to distort and falsification the facts to Iraqi people in its war on terror. For his part, Al-Sabah confirmed Kuwait's keenness on enhancing cooperation with Iraq, pointing out that it is following and support Iraq in the fight against terrorism, praising the achievements of the Iraqi government during the last period, most notably the opening up to the various countries of the world, and to promote national reconciliation and embrace all the Iraqi people, stressing the need to hold a meeting of the Joint Ministerial Commission between the two countries as soon as possible to activate agreements between them in the context of consolidation of relations.
