Iraqi House Speaker to Kuwaiti Ambassador: We seek to open up to our Arab surroundings

BAGHDAD / NINA / House Speaker, Salim al-Jubouri discussed with Kuwait's Ambassador Ghassan Al-Zawawi ways of developing bilateral relations. A statement by the Office of the President of the House of Representatives, said, "During the meeting the two sides discussed ways of development of bilateral relations, stressing that Iraq is seeking to open up to its Arab neighbors." Jubouri expressed ambition for more support from the Arab states of Iraq, especially at this stage, which is witnessing significant developments on the political and security levels that require support and cooperation by all countries of the region, including Kuwait. For his part, the Kuwaiti Ambassador congratulate al-Jubouri on the occasion of the formation of the new government, stressing that his country is watching with great interest the political developments in Iraq, especially the formation of the new government. Zawawi said that "his country is ready to expand cooperation frameworks between the two countries, pointing out that Iraq is an axial country and its stability is the stability of the entire region."
