Iraqi House Speaker Meets With His Kuwait, Turkey And Jordan Counterparts

BAGHDAD / NINA / Iraqi House Speaker, Osama al-Nujaifi discussed with his counterparts from Kuwait , Turkey and Jordan bilateral relations and the situation of the region in general . A statement by Nujaifi Office issued today cited that "the President of the Council held a series of meetings with a number of his counterparts, heads of parliaments of some countries in the region in the Tunisian capital, on the sidelines of the ceremony held by the National Constituent Assembly of Tunisia on the occasion of the ratification of the new Constitution of the Republic of Tunisia." The statement added "Nujaifi discuss with each of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouk Al-Ghanem, the Turkish Parliament Speaker, Cemil Cicek and the head of the Jordanian Parliament Atef al-Tarawneh separately , bilateral relations and issues of common interest . " . The statement continued, "in the meetings, he also discuss the situation in the region, and ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation to ensure common interests." Nujaifi is currently visiting Tunisia to attend the ratification of the new Tunisian Constitution preceded by another visit to Turkey, where he met with Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. / End
