Iraqi TV Network To Establish Representative Office In Tehran

Tehran, July 22, IRNA – Al Iraqiya TV network will have a representative office in Tehran, said Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini in Tehran on Sunday. Hosseini told reporters on the sidelines of his meeting with Iraqi Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lava al-Samim that presently, there are more than 120 foreign news bureaus in Iran. Hosseini said the Egyptian governmentˈs ban on activity of Iranian al-Alam TV network in Egypt is unjustified and said it would harm bilateral relations. He said, ˈEgypt is an Islamic country and we are ready to have cooperation with the country in all domains, in cultural and arts fields in particular.ˈ He noted ˈWe welcome presence of Egyptian media persons and reporters in Iran but Iranian reporters are barred from traveling to Egypt.ˈ He hoped that better conditions would prevail in Egypt soon because the Iranian people need to be informed of Egyptˈs conditions because reflection of the news both regionally and globally would be in favor of Egyptians themselves. He added, ˈWe are ready to host representative offices of Egyptian networks in Iran and we would have necessary cooperation with them.ˈ/end
