IRCS Expanding Its Humanitarian Activities Abroad

Tehran, Nov 16, IRNA – An official with the Islamic Republic of Iran Red Crescent Society said here on Saturday that the organization is expanding its humanitarian activities abroad in a bid to provide health services to underprivileged and disadvantaged people in other countries. Talking to IRNA, Reza Reis Karami who is the deputy for the society for health, treatment and rehabilitation affairs noted that presently his society was active in 19 Asian, African and Latin American countries. He stressed that the Iran Red Crescent Society is providing medical and humanitarian services to the needy and disadvantaged people in Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bolivia, Tajikistan, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Comoros, Kenya, Lebanon, Mali, Niger, Congo, Yemen, UAE and Nicaragua. Establishing medical centers in foreign countries is considered as one of the main proposes of Red Crescent Society for fostering relations between the nations and governments, he said./end
