IRGC commander says Zionist regime to pay heavy cost for recent crimes

Tehran, IRNA – IRGC Commander Major-General Hossein Salami said on Saturday that the Zionist regime will pay a heavy cost for their recent crimes in Gaza Strip. Salami made the remarks during a meeting with Secretary General of the Palestinian movement of Islamic Jihad Ziyad al-Nakhalah. The commander noted that the liberation of Palestine is not a dream; it is rather a goal and strategy for Iran to secure the freedom of Palestine and to return the lost and occupied lands of Palestine to its original owners. The strength of the Zionist regime is declining and the liberation of the Holy Quds is so close, Salami said. He added that today the power of the Palestinian resistance has expanded so that they are capable of managing major wars. The commander referred to a Friday aggression of the Zionist regime against Gaza Strip which led to the death and injury of tens of Palestinian people, the innocent children in particular, and that an immediate response by the Islamic Jihad to these crimes shows that a new chapter has begun in the life of the resistance. He noted that the Zionists will pay a heavy cost for their recent crimes. The Palestinian side, for his part, appreciated the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Palestinian resistance and Intifada. He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran's stand and confrontation against the US and the Zionist regime makes the Palestinian people happy and increases the morale of the Palestinian fighters. Al-Nakhalah vowed that the Islamic Jihad will continue with its resistance along with other Palestinian resistance groups so as to give timely response to any aggression by the Zionist regime.
