Islamic Affairs Minister Inaugurates Yemen-Saudi Arabia Forum on Facing Iranian-Houthi Extremism, Terrorism

Riyadh, Jan.5. 2022, SPA -- Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah (Call) and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh inaugurated here Yemen's scholars forum on Facing Iranian-Houthi Extremism & Terrorism, which commenced under the theme: "Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in facing the Iranian-Houthi Extremism and Terrorism," organized by the Communication Program, an affiliate of the ministry, as part of scientific and dawah efforts offered by the program. Yemeni Minister of Awqaf and Guidance Sheikh Mohammad bin Aidah Shabibah, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber and several scholars from various components of the Yemeni society participated in the event. In a key speech, Sheikh Al-Sheikh stressed the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, for the Yemeni people, highlighting the important role and responsibility of Yemeni scholars towards their homeland during the current phase witnessed by their country which proceeds until realizing security and stability in the country. He also stressed the ministry's keenness to help and support Yemeni scholars in delivering their dawah, scientific and ideological message and showing the dangers of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on the Islamic faith and identity, calling for unifying and doubling efforts in Yemen to save Yemenis from the dangers of their identity being destroyed. For his part, Shabibah delivered a speech commending the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, in supporting the program, stressing that Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are entirely united and sharing the same cause, adding that, as the Houthi doctrine is targeting the cradle of the Arab nation it is also targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Starting discussions, the forum focussed on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in combating the Iranian-Houthi extremism as well as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's role in the humanitarian field, the roles of the legitimate government in Yemen and that of the Arab coalition in facing the Iranian-Houthi aggression. The event also referred to the positions and roles of Yemeni scholars towards the suffering resulting from the Iranian-Houthi aggressions. It also addressed the official and public and human rights and humanitarian organizations roles towards attacks on Yemen. The forum also reviewed samples from terrorist Houthi violations against the human rights of Yemenis and the faith deviations of Houthis and their threat to the Yemeni society. --SPA
