Islamic Youth Organization Provides 300 Personnel To secure Good Friday

Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara, Aprl 16 (Antara) - The Ansor youth movement, an affiliated organization with Nahdlatul Ulama (the largest Muslim organization in Indonesia), has provided 300 personnel to secure Good Friday celebrations in East Nusa Tenggara. "The 300 personnel will be deployed throughout the East Nusa Tenggara region, and that will also be supported by Ansor`s branch in each district," clarified Chairman of East Nusa Tenggara`s Ansor Youth Movement Abdul Muis in Kupang, on Wednesday. Abdul explained that the deployment of Ansor`s personnel on Good Friday will start today (April 16), "Ash Wednesday" until Sunday (April 20). About the technical security during this time, the Ansor will coordinate with the regional Good Friday committee, including with the churches in the region. "We will deploy our personnel according to the needs of each of the church committees," Abdul confirmed. The Ansor`s involvement in securing the Good Friday celebration was part of the organization`s commitment to the diversity in harmony, which is the cornerstone of the nation. "This is our responsibility, as an Islamic youth organization, to secure the Good Friday celebrations in our region," Abdul emphasized. However, Abdul added that there may be religious and racist problems among nations, but they can be prevented through mutual respect. "We are indeed different, but that doesn`t mean we are discriminating each other, as our differences have been unified in one nation, Indonesia," he noted. The Ansor Youth Movement is an organization that has affiliations with Nahdlatul Ulama, the largest Muslim organization in Indonesia, established on April 24, 1934.
