Issues prepared for Thai PM trip to US

BANGKOK, August 15 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha (ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา) plans to raise issues on trade and investment cooperation with the United States during his next US trip. Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai told journalists on Tuesday although there has been no clear schedule for the prime minister's next visit to the United State, the premier has initially prepared trade and investment cooperation issues for talks with the US side. Don said issues prepared by the prime minister also cover regional security cooperation. The foreign minister stressed, however, that there has been no pressure for Thailand to close North Korean businesses in the country and US Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson only said during his visit to Thailand last week that Washington wants North Korea to be a nuclear-free nation and the US government is seeking cooperation from the international community towards the goal. According to the Thai foreign minister, the prime minister's next visit to the United States will further strengthen bilateral relations between Washington and Bangkok, as Thailand plans to cooperate more with the United States in investment projects.
