Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ From foreign press A Tunisian secular opposition leader critical of the country's Islamist-led government has been killed. The incident has prompted demonstrations by his supporters. Mohamed Brahmi, a senior member of the secular Popular Front Party, was shot dead in the outskirts of the capital Tunis on Thursday. A witness told the state-run news agency that Brahmi was in his car near his home when two men came on a motorbike and fired shots at him. The identity of the attackers is unknown. Brahmi was an outspoken critic of the Islamic government that was elected to power following the Arab Spring uprising that began in the country in 2011. He criticized the administration for not doing enough to crack down on Islamic extremists. After the assassination, supporters of the opposition took to the streets across the country. They demanded the cabinet resign. Some set fire to offices of the ruling party. In February, the former leader of the same Popular Front Party was also assassinated. xxxxxxx The oldest man on the planet is currently 112-year-old resident of the State of New York, USA, Salustiano Sanchez Blaskes. When asked about the secret of his longevity, Sanchez Blaskes says he eats a banana a day and dutifully takes all the prescribed drugs. However, his daughter believes there is another explanation. "I think he owes his longevity to his strong-willed and obstinate character," says the 69-year-old Irene Johnson. xxxxxxx A group of soldiers of People's Liberation Army (PLA) violated the line of actual control, which serves as a border with India and has invaded the northern state of Uttarakhand. Until now, infiltration by Chinese soldiers had taken place in the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir in the western and eastern sections of the line of actual control, stated the source. xxxxxxx Russia has not received extradition request for U.S. intelligence whistleblower Edward Snowden from the United States, the Justice Ministry said Thursday.
