Italian Foreign Minister: Iran's Role In Resolving Crisis In Iraq Is "Significant"

BAGHDAD / Nina / Italian Foreign Minister, Federica Mogherini described Iran's role in resolving the crisis in Iraq as significant. Mogherini considered in a press statement in Rome that "the participation of countries in the region, particularly Iran, in resolving the Iraqi crisis is constructive and important, adding we are cooperating with all players in the region starting from Iran, Turkey and down to the Gulf's States. She pointed out that finding some kind of new balance in the Middle East that is capable to involve all the key players to resolve the crisis in Iraq is an importance because these scenarios related to each other largely. She said: We are not able to deal with crises afflicting Libya, Syria and Iraq separately but we must draw a project for the entire region and such a project needs the involvement of all the regional players. She expressed confidence that the preparation for this project embodies the demands and obligations of the European Union at the international level, adding that it seems that it is time to adopt our responsibilities as key players toward the main international issues. She emphasized that "the key and urgent aim is stop the Islamic State and provide support for civilians in addition to performing political procedures. / End
