Italian foreign minister: there is no other meaningful partner for EU than Turkey

ISTANBUL (A.A) - Italian Foreign Minister Giulia Terzi has said that there was no other partner for the EU which was more meaningful than Turkey. Holding a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Istanbul on Friday, Terzi repeated Italy's support to Turkey's EU membership bid. We attach importance to Turkey's integration with Europe. Turkey's future is in the EU. Enlargement of Europe by including Turkey too will be for the interest of Europe, said Terzi. Turkey's contribution to solution of crises by diplomatic ways is also important, he added. Turkey is important both in terms of Europe's security policy and for being an example of democracy in its region, said Terzi, adding that Turkey's getting closer to Europe would be a richness for Europe. I don't think there is any other important and meaningful partner for the EU than Turkey in this region, said Terzi.
