Italian parliamentary delegation due in Tehran

Tehran, May 3, IRNA – An Italian parliamentary delegation is due in Tehran on Saturday morning. Head of Iran-Italy parliamentary friendship group said that strengthening role of parliamentary friendship groups in political, economic and cultural decision makings is the axis of the talks between the two parliamentary friendship groups. Javad heravi told IRNA on Friday afternoon that the Italian delegation includes 10 parliament deputies and their visit lasts until Tuesday May 6, 2014. He expressed regret that parliamentary relations between the two countries have been weak and now it seems that a new opportunity has arisen to strengthen bilateral ties. ˈIn our discussions, we will try to expand bilateral relations, which have been weakening in the past years,ˈ said Heravi. He added that academic issues and cultural cooperation are to be discussed in this visit. The Italian delegation will meet with some of Majlis commissions as well as senior officials of Iran. end
