Italian sculptor Luca Marovino to hold workshops in Tehran

TEHRAN,Oct.30(MNA) -- Italian sculptor Luca Marovino will arrive in Tehran today to hold workshops for Iranian artists for 12 days. The workshops will begin tomorrow at Saba Sang, a stone cutting company located near Tehran’s International Imam Khomeini Airport. Sixteen Iranian artists have been selected to participate in the workshops, which has been organized by Saba Sang. The sculptures that will be created during the workshops will be assessed by Iranian sculptor Behruz Darash and Marovino at the end of the workshops and two of the works will be awarded. Marovino, 43, studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Carrara. He has previously participated in many international events and also held numerous exhibits in his homeland and several other countries including Germany, France, Poland and England. He participated in the 1st Tehran International Sculpture Symposium in February 2007.
