Italy keen to host Iranian troupe for “The Author Is Dead”

TEHRAN,Jan.19(MNA) -- Italian cultural attaché Carlo Cereti said that he will try to make the necessary arrangements for an Iranian theater troupe to perform “The Author Is Dead” in his country. He made the remarks after watching the play at Sayeh Hall of Tehran’s City Theater Complex on Thursday, the complex announced in a press release on Friday. “Since the Italian version of the play is also available, I will try to make the arrangements for the troupe to perform the play in Italy,” Cereti said. Cereti met director Arash Abbasi and his troupe and expressed his appreciation of the performance. “I was very impressed by the high quality of your performance and I hope that I can watch such plays again in Iran,” he added. “The Author Is Dead” features dialogues between Leila, a superstar, and Farhad, a screenwriter. The play, which has also been written by Abbasi, has been warmly welcomed by audiences.
