Jakarta To Develop Jaya Ancol Dreamland

Jakarta, Aug 19 (Antara) - The Jakarta provincial administration plans to develop the Jaya Ancol Dreamland recreational park into a world-class tourist attraction, according to Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. "We plan to rebuild Jaya Ancol Dreamland in such a way that entertainment seekers do not need to go overseas but can come to Ancol, instead," Basuki remarked at the Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday. But, he noted that the Ancol development plan should be in line with the coastal reclamation of 16 hectares by PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol. "I think it is necessary to develop Ancol into an international-class recreation center to prevent entertainment seekers from going abroad," Basuki remarked. PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol President Director Gatot Setyo Waluyo stated that he positively welcomed Basuki`s plan to develop Ancol into an international-class recreation park. "We plan to build a theme park on the reclamation site to revamp the image of Ancol into a world-class recreational center," Gatot emphasized.
