Jamaluddin's Dedication Helped Enhance Malaysia-US Relationship - US Embassy

KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 (Bernama) -- Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis, one of the passengers who perished in a helicopter crash in Semenyih, was tirelessly dedicated to advancing Malaysia's interest by enhancing relations with the United States. United States Ambassador to Malaysia, Joseph Y. Yun said Jamaluddin's commitment and dedication to the partnership will be sorely missed. "The strengthening of our bilateral relationship owes much to his creativity, energy and vision. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time," he said in the embassy's condolence message that was posted in its website Sunday night. The website also posted a picture that showed President Barack Obama and Jamaluddin with the caption, "President Barack Obama with Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis, former envoy to the US" An helicopter with six people on board crashed in Semenyih near here at 4.55pm Saturday. Among those in the passenger manifest were the pilot Captain Clifford William Fournier; Operation Assistant Aidana Baizieva; Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis; Jamaluddin's bodyguard Razakan B Seran; Azlin Alias and Tan Huat Seang. The bodies of all victims have been brought out of the accident site at about 11.30pm Saturday night and sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem and identification. -- BERNAMA
