Japan, China Leaders to Attend Asia-Africa Conference

Jakarta, March 31 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend a summit to mark the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference to be held in Jakarta in late April, the top aide to Indonesian President Joko Widodo said Tuesday. According to Luhut Pandjaitan, chief of staff to the president, the top leaders of 25 countries have announced their participations in the meeting so far. From North Korea, Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, is expected to join. The summit, also known as the Bandung conference, will be held in the Indonesian capital on April 22-23, followed by a ceremony in Bandung the next day, where the first conference was held in 1955.
