Japan Eyes Support for Boys Trapped in Thai Cave

Tokyo, July 4 (Jiji Press)--Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Wednesday that the country will consider providing support for 12 boys and a man who have been trapped in a cave in the northern Thai province of Chiang Rai for more than 10 days. The 13 people were found safe on Monday, but rainwater in the cave has hindered rescue efforts. Suga said Japan will provide support after studying actual needs. "I'm truly glad that they were confirmed to be safe. I hope the rescue operations will make steady progress so that they can return to their homes as soon as possible," the top Japanese government spokesman added. END
