Japan, France Confirm Cooperation in Fight against Terrorism

Kyoto, Oct. 5 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on Sunday confirmed the two countries' cooperation in the fight against terrorism. At their meeting in the western Japan city of Kyoto, Abe expressed his condolences for a French man murdered by an Islamic State-linked militant group. Abe emphasized Japan's resolve to fight terrorism in cooperation with the international community. Fabius expressed his thanks. Abe and Fabius also agreed that Japan and France will work together for the success of U.N. climate talks in Paris in late 2015. Fabius later moved to Tokyo and met with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida. The two agreed to promote bilateral defense equipment cooperation further. END
