Japan Implements Indonesians Effective December

Jakarta, Oct 2 (Antara) - Japan`s Foreign Affairs Minister Fumio Kishida on Tuesday (Sept. 30) announced that Japan will offer free visas to Indonesians effective December 1, 2014, according to Tokyo`s Indonesian Embassy`s press statement received here on Thursday. The free visas issued under the policy will allow Indonesians to stay in Japan for 15 days. However, free visas will only be granted to those entering Japan for vacation and not for working. Free visas will be given to those who have an IC passport. Those visiting Japan for the foremost time must first register themselves at the Japanese Embassy or the Consulate General Office in their respective country. The Japanese government will also issue multiple entry visas valid for five years to the people entering Japan for business purposes. Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Yusron Ihza Mahendra expressed delight on hearing about the free visa policy announced by the Japanese government. The ambassador was optimistic that the free visa policy will allow Indonesians to gain a better understanding about Japan and its people.
