Japan, India Agree on 5 Communications Projects

New Delhi, Dec. 3 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese and Indian governments agreed here on Wednesday to launch five joint projects in the information and communications field, including the development of anti-cyberattack technologies. Also among the projects is one for Japanese companies to install solar power panels at mobile phone base stations in major Indian cities to help the South Asian country reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The two sides decided on the projects at the second meeting of a relevant joint working group. The first meeting was held in Tokyo in February this year, after the two countries agreed in January to promote full-fledged cooperation in the information and communications sector. END
