Japan OKs Haneda-Turkey Direct Flight

Tokyo, May 16 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese transport ministry said Friday it has agreed with Turkish aviation authorities to open direct flights connecting Turkey with Tokyo International Airport at Haneda. Each country will have one flight a day on the route using one of the airport's late-night or early-morning slots, according to the ministry. Japanese airlines currently operate no direct flights to Turkey, and All Nippon Airways is willing to launch the route. At present, Turkish Airlines offers two flights connecting Istanbul with Narita International Airport, near Tokyo, and one flight between the city and Kansai International Airport, near the western Japan city of Osaka, every day. <9202> END
