Japan Unveils Hiroshima G-7 Summit Logo

Tokyo, Dec. 21 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government on Wednesday unveiled the official logo for a summit of the Group of Seven major democracies in the western city of Hiroshima in May next year.    The logo features seven different-colored origami papers bound by a G-shaped clip, symbolizing unity, officials said.    The government picked the logo design of Keiichi Kusano, 67, from the southwestern prefecture of Nagasaki out of 854 applications.    Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said at an award ceremony in Tokyo that the logo design "with origami motif is very Japanese" and embodies "G-7 unity for world peace."    "It would be an honor if (the logo) is used to improve the G-7 image," Kusano told reporters after the ceremony.
