Japanese authorities to introduce no-flight zones over areas to be visited by Putin

TOKYO, December 12. /TASS/. Japanese authorities will introduce no-flight zones over a number of areas in the country during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit scheduled for December 15-16, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said on Monday. The ban will affect drones as well, it indicated. A no-flight zone will be established in the area of Ube airport in Yamaguchi Prefecture where the Russian President’s jet is to land, as well as over some districts of the city of Nagato, which Putin will visit upon arrival, and over a number of districts in Tokyo where Putin is due to come on December 16. Flights in the no-flight areas will be permitted only or special aircraft ensuring security of the Russian head of state. Nagato is the home town of Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Read more
