Japanese Director's "37 Seconds" Wins Prizes at Berlin

Berlin, Feb. 16 (Jiji Press)--Japanese female director Hikari's "37 Seconds" won the Audience Award in the Panorama section at the Berlin Film Festival in the German capital on Saturday. The film, featuring an actress with cerebral palsy, also won the International Confederation of Art House Cinemas' Panorama Art Cinema Award. The film tells a story of a 23-year-old woman with cerebral palsy using a wheelchair while attempting to live a more independent life. Israeli director Nadav Lapid's "Synonyms," a movie about a young Israeli man in Paris who is determined to get rid of nationality, won the Golden Bear Award for Best Film. END
