Japanese Embassy pays tribute to late Mubarak Kanoo

Manama, July 11 (BNA): Ambassador of Japan to the kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Hideki Ito hosted a ceremony in honour of late Mubarak Jassim Kanoo, Former President of Bahrain-Japan Business and Friendship Society in recognition of his invaluable contribution to strengthening and developing relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Due to his great efforts, the Japanese government decided to bestow the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon upon him. The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon is given to individuals who have given exemplary service to Japan. Under that criterion Mr. Mubarak Kanoo qualified in spades. Mubarak Kanoo played a prominent role in the local and international companies, in addition to his role in establishing the Bahrain-Japan Business and Friendship Society which is actively contributing to developing trade and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries. “I remember he always had a big, warm smile on his face. It is that smile I know everyone misses tonight.” Ambassador Hideki Ito remarked. He added “Mr. Mubrak Kanoo was the staunch supporter of the Society and Japan-Bahrain relations, including during the bad times for Japan after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.” “My father always admired and respected the Japanese Culture. He was particularly impressed with their social structure, discipline and loyalty in business and a code of conduct between each other,” Ms. Mona Kanoo said. Nasser Al Arayedh, President of Bahrain-Japan Business and Friendship Society said: “Mr. Mubarak Kanoo will remain in our hearts and in the memory of Bahrain-Japan Business and Friendship Society forever.” Dr. Abdullatif Kanoo, the Islamic Centre Founder and Executive Chairman expressed his sadness over the demise of the late Mubarak Kanoo, reflecting his constant desire to promote love and stand by the citizens of Bahrain in all situations.
