BANGKOK, August 15 (TNA) - Japan's National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) has appointed 'Daijiro Enami', popular Japanese journalist among the Thai people, as the special tourism ambassador to Thailand, the first to take up such position. JNTO Thailand Director Kasuhiro Ito presented the prize of special tourism envoy to Thailand to Japan's local Fuji TV reporter, Daijiro Enami, who has been in the interests of the Thai media since he was assigned to cover political news stories in Thailand since last year. The JNTO hopes that the effort to create the first special tourism envoy would stimulate better tourism in the Land of the Rising Sun. The awardee, Daijiro Enami said he is really proud to have been selected as the first special tourism ambassador to Thailand and that he felt impressed with the Thai people for their great knowledge on the Japanese cultures and traditions. He stressed that he would do his best to convey the beauty of Japan to the international community.
