Jokowi Expected To Enhance RI-Malaysia Coop

Kuala Lumpur, July 24 (Antara) - The newly elected President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is expected to strengthen the already sound relations with Malaysia and to extend cooperation with the country in numerous fields, stated Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Herman Prayitno. "Jokowi should maintain what President Yudhoyono`s government has formed with Malaysia and continue to expand it in various fields," Prayitno remarked here on Wednesday. The ambassador pointed out that Yudhoyono`s government has several accomplishments to its name, such as the settlement of the land and sea demarcation line between Indonesia and Malaysia, efforts to increase trade volume to reach US$30 billion by the end of 2015, and improvement in cultural cooperation. According to Prayitno, there are several Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia who need serious attention from Jokowi`s government. "Therefore, Jokowi is expected to continue to strengthen the already strong and good relations between Indonesia and Malaysia," the Indonesian envoy noted.
