Justice Minister heads to Qatar

Manama, Oct.5 (BNA): The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) justice ministers will tomorrow –October 7 - convene for their 27th meeting in Doha, Qatar. Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa headed to Qatar, along with the accompanying delegation, to attend the two-day session, which will conclude on Wednesday. In a statement before leaving Bahrain, he said that the ministers would discuss key issues to bolster judicial cooperation, particularly the draft agreement on extraditing suspects and convicts between the GCC member states. The delegations will also discuss a proposal to elaborate a unified draft law on combating the scourge of terrorism, in addition to another proposal under which GCC member states would act together in signing legal and judicial agreements with other countries of international groups. The minister said that the two-day session would spotlight the annual report on the implementation of the resolutions relating to joint judicial work, in addition to a report submitted by the committee of GCC officials in charge of international cooperation and public relations for 2015. The delegation includes the minister’s advisor Abdul-Aziz Mohammed Al-Rashid Al-Binali, the director of Courts Directorate Mohammed Abdulrahim Bucheeri and minister’s office executive secretary Hamad Ali Hajji.
