Katara Announces Qatari Farmers Forum

Doha, May 16 (QNA) - The Katara Cultural Village announced to hold a forum for Qatari farmers and provide a building in Katara in support of the country's development process. General Manager of Katara Cultural Village Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said that the announcement of this initiative comes as a result of the prosperity and transformation of the agricultural sector, which represents a qualitative leap in the national economy, pointing out that this forum will give local farmers the opportunity to meet regularly and consult on agricultural matters and exchange of experiences, commending the achievements of all participants in "Mahaseel Festival II" of cooperation and effort contributed to the success of this festival.. He pointed out that the good impact by the offers of this festival and its activities help to continue and to encourage the production of national companies and local farms of food products and agricultural crops. Last night, Al Sulaiti honored the participants from local farmers, and national companies specialized in agriculture and their derivatives, as well as a number of officials from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment from the Department of Agricultural Affairs, the Department of Public Parks and Livestock Management and a group of agricultural engineers for their supervisory role and logistical support for the success of the festival. For their part, the participants valued efforts to support the local product, praising the incentives and facilities provided. It is worth mentioning that Mahaseel Festival held by Katara from 23 to 30 December 2017 and continued on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays every week until the end of March 2018. It is supporting the national product in various sectors, especially in agriculture, livestock and food products, in order to achieve sustainability in the agricultural sector, provide self-sufficiency and support food security in the country.
