Katara to Host Fourth Dhow Festival in November

Doha, October 18 (QNA) - Under the auspices of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Katara will hold the fourth Traditional Dhow Festival from November 18-22. The festival stemmed from Katara's mission to revive ancestral heritage of traveling and navigating through the world by sailing. Katara beach will begin receiving requests tomorrow from those who wish to participate in the event. Registration will close on October 23. Katara General Manager Khalid Al Sulaiti said that the event will provide the audience with a phenomenal cultural festival that will include a host of activities and competitions for the first time. He added that the event was to commemorate the sacrifices of Qatar's ancestor and the dangerous life they led in their naval journey's to find pearl in the depth of the Arabian Gulf. He said that the festival, under the auspices of HH the Emir, has been a huge success in the past. With more than 500,000 visitors coming to attend "Fath El-Kheir" trip. Last year "Fath El-Kheir" sailed from Katara Beach its first station in the Kingdom of Bahrain, then heading to Saudi Arabia and to Kuwait, after that to Oman, then navigating through to the United Arab Emirates, before returning back to Doha.
