Katara Hosts Islamic Scholar Dr. Zakir Naik

Doha, May 25 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation-Katara hosts today a lecture entitled: "Does God Exist?" that will be delivered by the renowned Islamic Scholar Dr. Zakir Naik and Fariq Zakir Naik, at Katara Amphitheatre at 8:00 pm. Katara is expecting both Muslim and non-Muslim audiences from different nationalities to attend this event, and arranged simultaneous translation services covering Arabic, Urdu and Tagalog (Filipino) languages with live coverage from a number of local and international television networks. Katara's keenness to host similar lectures stems from its vision to provide visitors with a diverse-array of cultural, educational and intellectual lectures. The "Gardens of Paradise"; a series of lectures at Katara Mosque, and the "Lifestyle" series are only few examples of lectures held earlier at the Cultural Village. Renowned scholars and preachers from the Arab and Islamic world have previously delivered lectures at Katara, including: Dr. Aid Al-Qarni, Dr. Muhammad Al-Arifi, Dr. Mohammed Rateb Al-Nabulsi, Dr. Tariq Suwaidan, Dr. Hmoud Al-Qashan and American preacher Yusuf Estes, whose lecture titled: "My Journey to the Light" had a powerful influence in letting many believers convert to Islam. As part of its continuous effort to boost Islamic identity and make non-Muslims aware of the Islamic religion, the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara has also hosted numerous events and exhibitions related to the topic of Islam, in which several speakers from various countries and cultures interacted with the audience. A medical doctor by professional training, Dr. Zakir Naik is renowned as a dynamic international orator on Islam and Comparative Religion. He is the President of Islamic Research Foundation, Mumbai, India. 50-year old Dr. Zakir clarifies Islamic viewpoints and clears misconceptions about Islam, using the Qur'an, authentic Hadith and other religious Scriptures as a basis, in conjunction with reason, logic and scientific facts. Amongst the billion plus population of India Dr Zakir Naik was ranked No. 82 in The 100 Most Powerful Indians list published by Indian Express in the year 2009 and ranked No. 89 in 2010. (QNA)
