Katara to Organize Over 80 Events On Celebration Of National Sport Day

Doha, February 07 (QNA) - In celebration of National Sport Day, Cultural Village Foundation-Katara will organize over 80 entertaining, healthy and sportive events for people from all walks of life. The events which range between marine and aerial activities, athlete games, basketball, soccer, and beach handball will take place at Kataras different facilities of esplanade and beach. This is in addition to other participations by some institutes represented in health tips, and other medical checks. This was announced by Ahmad Al Sayed, deputy general manager for operation in Katara, during a press Conference held at Katara on Sunday. On the occasion, Al Sayed said: "Culture and sports are integral parts in everyday life. They are responsible for the development of the human mind and body, and have a positive and pivotal role in disseminating profound, sublime, and civilized thinking in the society. From this perception, Katara was keen to diversify the sports and events of the National Sports Day that reached more than 80 events." Katara deputy general manager unveiled the fact that the events hosted by Katara were presented by more than 40 entities and institutions across the State of Qatar and targeting all age groups and it ranged between marine and aerial activities, athlete games, basketball, soccer, and beach handball This is in addition to other participations by some institutes represented in health tips, and other medical checks. Al sayed exuded thanks and appreciation for all participating entities at Kataras events on the occasion of the national Sport day. "We highly appreciate the role of ministry of culture and sport for their continuous support. I hope all visitors and guests of Katara find our programmes and activities beneficial and fun in this exceptional day, and I wish they spend a wonderful time with us." Katara deputy general manager added. In the other respect, Katara has launched its slogan of "Be the Champion" to mark the fifth edition of the National Sport Day in bid to disseminate the culture of practicing sport. (QNA)
