Katara Releases 'Qatar in the Arab Press' Book

Doha, May 03 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has launched its latest book entitled Qatar in the Arab Press 1909-1998; compiled by the team of researchers at the Studies and Research Committee. The launch took place in a press conference held in the presence of Director of the Research department, Dr. Nadia Al Madahka, and research expert Abdul Aziz Rifaat. "It's my pleasure to meet you today as we celebrate the occasion of launching a new Katara milestone publication: Qatar in the Arab Press:1909-1998. This book represents the latest of our documentary publications, which Katara was keen to print, publish and distribute, in line with its strong commitment and ongoing contribution to the issue of documenting the civilized history of the State of Qatar," Al Madahka said on behalf of Katara General Manager Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti. For his part, Rifaat outlined the documents, articles, reports, investigations, columns, photo-journalistic coverages and clippings that have been published in the Arabic newspapers, magazines and periodicals. He pointed out that the preparation of this book included a combined efforts and cooperation from various authorities and organizations, and announced that other publications will follow. Katara is keen to publish significant books that contribute to achieving its objectives and promoting national identity in the Qatari society by connecting generations with their past civilization, reinforcing loyalty and belonging to their country.
