Kazakh, U.S. presidents meet

Astana, Kazakhstan, March 26 By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend: Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama and discussed the issues related to further strengthening and development of bilateral trade and economic relations, Acorda (residence of Kazakhstan's president) said. Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed out that around 300 joint Kazakh-U.S. enterprises operate in Kazakhstan and this shows the dynamic cooperation in trade and economic sphere. Moreover the U.S. is one of the largest investors in Kazakhstan's economy, according to Nazarbayev. Kazakh president stressed that his country is interested in active participation of the U.S. companies in the industrial-innovative development program. Additionally, during the negotiations the parties discussed Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the topical issues of the international agenda. The U.S. president highlighted Kazakhstan's great contribution to the nuclear disarmament issue and stressed that Kazakhstan is an example for all states in this sphere.
