Kazakhstan to host next KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum

Kazakhstan, Astana, Sept. 17 / Trend D. Mukhtarov / VIII KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum that is a key international event for the energy sector of the country will be held in Astana on October 8-9, Forum's press service said on Tuesday. The main topic of the forum is "Energy for the future - Eurasian perspectives." This event traditionally attracts interest of the regional and international community, including senior officials, top executives of local and foreign companies, international energy organizations, diplomatic missions and representatives of international and domestic media. Among the key speakers of this year's meeting are Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov, the former French Prime Minister Francois Fillon, a former head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Spain Jose Maria Aznar, the commander of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, the General of NATO Wesley Clark, Secretary General of International Energy Forum Aldo Flores-Quiroga , Executive Vice President of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) Zheng Baosen and many others. The main areas of discussion will be the formation of a new energy system, its key trends, challenges and prospects, the development trend of global energy, scenarios of energy sector development, and the role of the Eurasian region in sustainable energy future. During the forum, separate sections will be held, organized jointly with the International Energy Agency (IEA). The sections will be focused on discussion of the role of new technologies and innovation in addressing global energy challenges. It is also expected to consider the impact of economic cycles on the global energy market, transformation of centers of supply, consumption and routes of energy resources, the prospects for low-carbon development in the Eurasian region, issues of stimulating the development of innovative technologies and financing of future energy projects in the face of economic uncertainty.
