Kazakhstan prepares roads for winter

Astana, Kazakhstan, July 10 By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend: A two-month comprehensive targeted program aimed at ensuring safety on all roads of national significance, as well as the rehabilitation of automobile roads and road facilities was conducted in Kazakhstan, the press service of the Kazakh Transport and Communications Ministry reported. The program improved the technical condition of 936,000 square meters of roads in total. The activities within the program include work to eliminate holes, tracks and combs on the roads, striping the roadway, installation and replacement of road signs, fences, including the railing on the bridges, signal posts and kilometer pointers. In total, holes in the size of 936,987 square meters, tracks and combs - at 332,882 square meters were eliminated, marking was made on 13,348 kilometers, and 8,328 road signs were installed. These works were carried out in all regions of the country. Furthermore, some 315 auto pavilion and recreation areas have been repaired in almost all regions except the West Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, and South Kazakhstan regions. Today, the main focus of Kazakh highway engineers is to prepare all road maintenance equipment for the winter road maintenance, preparation of heating items intended for road users in case of emergencies, weather risks. Also production facilities for storage of equipment, coal and fuel were renovated, de-icing materials, snow break shields and coal reserves were purchased.
