Keidanren Delegation Calls On M'sian PM

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), March 8 (Bernama) -- A 15-member delegation from the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) called on Prime Minister Najib Razak (left) at his office here Wednesday. It was led by its chairman, Hiromasa Yonekura (right). The delegation is on a tour of Asean countries. Also present at the meeting were Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Mustapa Mohamed and Ministers in the Prime Minister's Department Nor Mohamed Yakcop and Idris Jala and Japan's Ambassador to Malaysia Shigeru Nakamura. Idris Jala, who is also CEO of the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu), briefed the delegation on the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP). The delegation visited Vietnam before flying to Malaysia yesterday, and is scheduled to leave for the Philippines on Thursday. Last year, a Keidanren delegation visited Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. Keidanren is a comprehensive economic organisation established in May 2002 by the amalgamation of the Japan Federation of Economic Organisations and Japan Federation of Employers' Associations.
