Kelantan Immigration Dept Looking For Errant Employer Of 19 Foreign Nationals

KOTA BAHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia), Feb 26 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Immigration Department is looking for an employer who brought in 19 Pakistani nationals to Pasir Puteh, Bachok and here. Its principal assistant director Hamid Abdul Rahman said the foreign nationals, aged 22 and 55, were detained in an overnight operation conducted jointly with the National Registration Department. "They have committed various offences including overstaying. We will seek out the employer who brought them in, for further action," he told a media conference at the Kelantan Immigration Department here, Thursday. He said all those detained would be sent to the Immigration Detention Centre in Tanah Merah for further investigation. Meanwhile, he said, 314 illegals, aged 17 to 50, were detained since several months ago for not having valid entry passes, overstaying and working in sectors other than those stated in their work passes. In KOTA KINABALU (Sabah), 28 illegal immigrants from the Philippines and Indonesia were detained in a crackdown on illegals at three locations around the city overnight. Kota Kinabalu police ACP M. Chandra said six men were also nabbed in the operation after they tested positive for drugs.
