Khalifa Foundation launches project to distribute dates

Abu Dhabi (WAM); The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has launched a dates distribution project to a number of brotherly and friendly countries on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, by shipping 281 tons of dates by sea and air to 18 countries around the world. This project aims to achieve the Foundation's mission to improve the lives of poor families and to provide some of their needs during Ramadan in cooperation with the U.A.E. embassies in those countries. The Foundation shipped 15 tons of dates to Egypt, 15 tons to Lebanon, 1 ton to Ireland, 3.6 tons to Portugal, 3.6 tons to Spain, 15 tons to Germany, 15 tons to Belgium, 20 tons to Senegal, 13 tons to Switzerland, 20 tons to Japan, 20 tons to Bangladesh, 15 tons to Tanzania, 15 tons to India, 40 tons to Kazakhstan, 20 tons to Pakistan, 10 tons to Uzbekistan, 20 tons to Malaysia, and 20 tons to Turkmenistan. The Foundation is keen to support groups that suffer during difficult economic conditions.
