"KHAN BANK" FOUNDATION BRINGS NEW YEAR GIFTS TO CHILDREN

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ While New Year is drawing nearer, the Khan Bank Foundation is delivering hearth warming gifts to the pupils of the Special School No116 for the Blind and Visually Impaired and the children staying at National Cancer Research Center and Division of Burn in National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center. On 17 December, the Khan Bank Foundation representatives visited the Special School No. 116 during its New Year celebration and handed out gifts to 94 children. The bright little pupils brought hope, dream, happiness and proud to their teachers and parents, and filled the event with laughter and music, the Khan Bank’s website reported Tuesday. The School No. 116 of Ulaanbaatar is the only school in Mongolia designated for blind and visually impaired children from UB and rural area. This year 94 pupils are studying in the 1st to 10th grade. According to the teachers, understanding, encouraging and supporting these pupils are most important things that we can do. The Specific School differentiates from regular schools in many fields as it strives to support visually impaired children in adapting to the society. For instance, the school has nursing teachers in the dormitory for the pupils coming from the rural area. Unfortunately, due to tight budget, it is struggling to hire only 1 nursing teacher for 30 pupils. Moreover, all teachers must pay close attention and cares to each pupil. There are many people despite their visual impairment making great contribution to the society. One of them is B.Enkhmandakh, Chairperson of “Intelligent Center” that supports development and education of visually impaired children, and he organized this event together with Khan Bank Foundation. B.Enkhmandakh graduated from the School no. 116 in 2007 and studied medical science in Japan.
