Khofifah Leaves For Manchester To Attend ICA Conference

Jakarta, Oct 29 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Cooperatives Council deputy chairperson, Khofifah Indar Parawansa said she was leaving for Manchester to attend the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) conference on Oct 31 through November 2. "We will discuss about the concept and strategy of the cooperatives movement which is aimed at competing in the global economy and improving the reputation of Indonesian cooperatives locally and globally," Khofifah said here on Sunday night prior to her departure to Manchester. Khofifah who is concurrently president of the ASEAN Cooperatives will also explain about the developments of the Indonesian Cooperatives Movement and establish cooperation with the world cooperatives. She also hoped the Indonesian cooperatives would awaken and be successful such as those in the Netherlands, Germany and Japan. "Cooperatives in the three countries can compete internationally," she noted. According to her, the ICA conference is aimed to expedite the cooperatives growth.
